For todays post I wanted to share with you the YouTube channels I watch religiously. I am a huge fan of YouTube, and who knows, maybe I’ll have my own channel some day…
It’s Blondie (Casey Holmes) – Casey was one of the first YouTubers that I started watching religiously. I’ve learnt so much from her tutorials, and completely trust her reviews on products. You can tell that she is always completely honest, sometimes painfully so! I also just love who she is as a person, she doesn’t take herself too seriously and she doesn’t get involved in all the YouTube drama, of which there has been plenty lately! She has had numerous collabs with the likes of Smashbox, Palladio and Physicians Formula, and now even has her own online boutique, Rosie Daze (named after her gorgeous pups!). She is currently pregnant with her first child, and I can’t wait to see how her content develops along with motherhood.
Miss Hope Elizabeth – I’m just going to put this out there, Hope is quite possibly the sweetest person on the internet! A true southern girl, she has such a cool accent and I could listen to her talk for hours. Her content is pretty lifestyle orientated, and includes anything from monthly favourites, food hauls, organization and planning. She also has vlogs of her daily life along with her husband CJ and their adorable dogs. Hope recently moved from her native Kentucky to Wilmington in North Carolina, home of Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill! So essentially, she lives on the set of my favourite tv shows! She has also started working as a social media manager and I’m so pleased for her that her videos and blog have led to an exciting career.
Shane Dawson – If there is one person that has really come in to their own over the last year its Shane Dawson. His series’ on Jeffree Star and Jake Paul are probably what he is best known for, but he does also have a great back catalogue of video’s. His conspiracy theories are an absolute must see, but be warned, they will literally have you questioning everything. Thanks to Shane, I pretty much blame the illuminati for everything these days. What I love about Shane is his self deprecating humour, when you’re a successful YouTuber there is every chance that you can get a bit big for your boots, but that is totally not the case with him. Thanks to his friendship with Jeffree Star (something I am so here for!), he has started dabbling in the beauty industry, and I’m excited to see where that goes.
Doctor Mike – I’ll start by getting the most obvious point out of the way first – Doctor Mike is a real life McDreamy, right down to the perfect hair! But. That’s not the (only) reason I love his video’s. Doctor Mike is currently a practicing Physician (check me out using the American lingo…) and for his video’s he uses his medical knowledge and experience to comment on pretty much any TV show with a medical theme, such as House, Scrubs, and my personal favourite, Grey’s Anatomy. This format could go really wrong, what with the risk of sounding arrogant or like a know it all, but Doctor Mike doesn’t do this at all. He comes across so well, and he has a really likable personality. I can imagine him being a great doctor that really puts his patients as ease. Plus, he has a cute dog.
Dr Pimple Popper (Sandra Lee) – Another Doctor! A very different type of channel this time though, and not one for the faint hearted! I would not recommend if you are squeamish. However, if like me you find a bit or gunk and gore entertaining, then Dr Pimple Popper is the channel for you. Sandra Lee, aka Dr Pimple Popper, is a Dermatologist who films her procedures to post online. These can be anything from black head removal to huge cysts or lypomas. I’m slightly obsessed with dermatology and wish I had realized that back when I was at school, I may have ended up taking a completely different career path. There is just something so satisfying about that final ‘pop’… call me weird, but I love it!
Do you watch any of these channels? I’d love to know some of your favourites as I’m always looking for new people to follow.
