In my last post I mentioned about my fresh new approach to blogging. Since I got all of that out there I’ve felt much better and full of motivation to take my blog forward. Before I get in to some new posts I thought I would give you a little update on what’s been happening with me, as it will give you some sort of idea about what posts to expect in the future.
The biggest thing going on in my life right now is that my husband Kevin and I are buying a house! At the end of November we moved out of the house we had been renting for the last six years, and in with his parents. We wanted to save more money towards our deposit, plus we didn’t want to commit to another year’s contract when we didn’t know when we would find somewhere.
I’m happy to report that we have indeed found our future home! Well, sort of, we know where it will be and what it will look like, but it is currently still being built. We are purchasing a new build off plan and as it stands at the moment, it is 39% finished, and is due to be ready August/September time.
It has been a very interesting (and at times stressful) process. I have a few idea’s for posts about certain aspects of the move. I know that there were certain questions and pieces of information that I wanted that I couldn’t find online, so I’m hoping I can help future buyers. Once we have completed I will go in to detail, as I don’t want to temp fate just yet!
Whilst all of that has been going on, there have also been big changes with my treatment for Bipolar. I am currently on medication that is not recommended for women my age. Along with my psychiatrist, it was decided that I would change what I was currently taking. Unfortunately it is a bit long and drawn out, so for the last two months I have been lowering my dose. I still have a little way to go, but hopefully by the end of June I will be going on to something new.
Again, it has definitely been a process. I’ve ended up feeling quite physically ill on occasions, but am powering through. I will be sharing my experiences on my blog, again, in the hope that it will be helpful to someone. I’m going to wait until I’m settled on my new medication though. If you have any questions then feel free to comment below or contact me privately by email or through social media if you prefer, and I’ll make sure everything is covered.
Chris, Michelle and Bradley ready for the Brighton Marathon
Katy running the London Landmarks Half Marathon
I’ve mentioned previously on my blog that I come from a large family. In the last couple of months I’ve been out supporting my sister Katy who ran a half marathon in London, and also had a trip down to Brighton to cheer on my other sister Michelle, youngest brother Bradley and Brother in Law Chris as they ran a marathon.
I can’t help but feel completely inspired by them, so much so that I have decided to run a half marathon myself! When I tell people this they look at me like I really have well and truly lost the plot. Quite understandably too when you consider the fact that I currently weigh 17 stone and have only just managed to bring down my time to under an hour when completely 5K.
However, one thing anyone that knows me will agree on is that I am very stubborn and determined, so I’m hoping that will be enough to see me through training and get me to the finish line. Watch this space for my training updates.
Although I’m on a strict budget until we move, I’ve still managed to plan in some fun things in the coming months. Such as a show, press night in a new restaurant, two author events and a trip up to Manchester. If you don’t mind amateur photography on an iPhone 8 plus then be sure to keep an eye out on my blog for posts all about my upcoming adventures.
That’s all I have to share with you for now, though no doubt there will be something I’ve forgotten! I hope you’re all having a great weekend.
