I decided that before I went ahead and published the rest of my new year content, I would do another empties post for you, seeing as it’s been a while since I did one. I always find these helpful for myself as well, as it reminds me what to and what not to repurchase.
Garnier Nutrisse Crème in shade Blackcurrant 4.26 (deep burgundy), £5.79 – I’ve had these empty boxes hanging around for a while now, as I am now back to having blonde highlights. Back last year though, I decided I wanted to be dark again like I had been when I got married, but couldn’t afford to keep going to the hairdressers. In the end I settled for a d.i.y job. I didn’t mind this kit, it included everything you needed, the colour was what I wanted, and the intensive conditioner that came with it was great. If I decide to go down the home dye route again I would repurchase, but for now I’ll be sticking with the hairdressers.
Living Proof Healthy Hair Dry Shampoo*, £18.00 – It’s safe to say I’m a girl that loves me some dry shampoo, so when I was given this sample at an event, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. Unfortunately for my bank balance, it’s love! I didn’t always feel like I was getting away with my usual dry shampoo, but this offering will absorb any manor of oils such as sweat and grease (tmi? sorry). I definitely couldn’t use it on the regular as it’s £18 a can for the full size and I’m on a tight budget. But saying that, I have promised to treat myself to some if I keep up going to the gym regularly as I think it would be great for that.
Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara in Very Black, £5.99 – This mascara is an absolute classic and I don’t know a single make up wearer that hasn’t tried it. It is ideal for low key days, where you’re just polishing the edges off as I like to say! Personally, I seem to be loving a more dramatic mascara at the moment, even just for work. However, I know I will continue purchasing this in the future. Like I said, it’s a classic!
Urban Decay B6 Vitamin Infused Prep Spray, £24.00 for full size – I’d seen this spray on Instagram and YouTube quite a bit, but didn’t want to commit to a full size unless I knew it actually did something. I’m not completely convinced yet that I need a prep spray in my routine, but I do like the way this makes my skin feel, and it is particularly refreshing when it’s hot and humid. I did end up purchasing the full size, which I am using now.
Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer, £24.50 – Not only does this product get the prestigious title of being my favourite primer ever, it’s probably also my most repurchased make up product. I love the packaging, I love the formula and I love it’s versatility. As well as wearing under foundation, it also looks great on it’s own with just a touch of powder. Sadly, as I’m trying to declutter my make up stash at the moment, I can’t repurchase this until I’ve used a few more things up, but I absolutely will be in the future.
Elf Brush Shampoo, £5.00 – This was a good brush shampoo and did keep my brushes nice and clean. However, I have since started using one from Real Techniques which has become a firm favourite. I would use this one again though if I couldn’t get hold of that, particularly now that you can get Elf products in Superdrug.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, £3.33 400ml size (usually £4.99) – There are so many different micellar waters out there, of which I have tried a fair few. I have a couple that I quite like, and this one by Garnier is one of them. Aside from the fact that it works really well, it also comes in a variety of different sizes, which I find really handy.
Spa Micellar Cleansing Wipes – Another empties post, another face wipe packet! These were a home bargains special and it’s obvious why – they are terrible! They didn’t do anything in the way of cleansing, and I just ended up using them for make up spills on my desk and swatches so they didn’t go to waste. I definitely won’t be repurchasing.
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Pomegranate Hydrating Tissue Mask, £2.99 – Oh look, another Garnier product, I didn’t realize I was such a fan! Tissue masks really are one of the greatest inventions ever, particularly for people like me who are very lazy with skin care. This is the ideal Sunday evening mask, which keeps my skin nice and hydrated throughout the week. I like to stop up on this range whenever I see them on offer, and have a few other varieties to try out.
Avon Sleeptherapy Pillow Mist – Getting a good nights sleep is something I really rely on to help me manage my mental health. So typically, it’s probably the hardest thing I find to control. Luckily over the past year or so I have discovered a few things to help me, including this spray. It smells lovely and really does the trick! I don’t spray directly on to my pillow though and prefer to just do a few spritz in the air. This is another thing I stock up on when they are on offer! I have linked to Avon’s site where you can search for your local Avon consultant to purchase.
Garnier InvisiCalm After Shaving 48 hour anti-perspirant – Wow, that name is a bit of a mouthful! Anyway, this deodorant was ok. I never tested it’s 48 hour claims because of, you know, liking to wash! I am currently using one from Mitchum which is quite simply, the absolute best, so I plan on sticking to that one for now. However, this is much cheaper, so I’d buy it again if I needed something more budget friendly.
So there you have it, a nice mixture of different products there, and a real mixture in my thoughts on them too. Have you used anything I’ve mentioned before? Don’t forget to leave links to your empties posts below for me and everyone else to read!
