It’s that time again to show you what I’ve been using up lately, and let you know what I loved and what I wouldn’t bother repurchasing. There’s quite a bit, so let’s get started!
Benefit Dandelion blush – This blush was definitely one of my first make up loves, which you can probably tell by how bashed and battered the packaging is. It is perfect for beginners as isn’t too heavy so doesn’t need much in the way of blending, and is also great for light make up days. I would definitely repurchase, but not until I’ve got through some others that I’ve been using.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – This primer had a thin almost gel like formula to it, which I much prefer to silicone based ones. I found that this provided a good base both for liquid foundations, as well as for days when I just use powder and concealer. It also comes in a radiance, hydrate and a protect version, which I would also like to try, so would probably go for those first before repurchasing.
Mac False Lashes mascara – I’m going to jump straight in and say that this is my favourite high end mascara. One of my best friends gave me one as a gift, and I’ve been hooked since! It is a true black, builds up nicely on your lashes without making them look clumpy, and adds lots of length. Little tip if you want to give it a go, quite often you can get a free sample from the Mac website as a gift with purchase. I will definitely repurchase once I have worked my way through my extensive supply of mascara
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – Ok, so technically this isn’t ’empty’, but you can see from the state of it that it is definitely ready to go in the bin! I prefer to use a sponge for my base make up, as opposed to a brush, despite the fact that they need replacing much more regularly. One of the ends is perfect for covering the larger areas such as cheeks, forehead etc, the other is perfect for getting right in under the eyes. I would say this is about my third or fourth sponge from Real Techniques, and I have replaced this one already by taking advantage of a 3 for 2 offer in Boots.
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation – Being a make up lover, I play around with so much different make up that it’s quite rare that I’ll finish something like foundation. The fact that this one is all gone now shows how much I liked it. I don’t really like full heavy coverage, and prefer to be able to build up my base, which I’m able to do with the Hello Flawless. I will repurchase this again in the future when I’m not saving up as am working my way through a couple of other foundations at the moment.
Simple Cleansing Wipes – I’m pretty sure there won’t ever be an empties post that doesn’t include some face wipes. These original cleansing wipes are my preferred ones to always have on hand if I can’t be bothered to do a full skin care routine, or if I want to freshen up throughout make up free days. I always stock up when they are on offer and will continue to do so.
Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes – Although I will use the regular simple wipes more routinely, I do actually prefer these micellar ones. They are more expensive though and I’m a tight a**e so I don’t often buy them unless I’m treating myself.
Pocket bac – I got this little pocket bac in France last year for just over a euro. It has such a delicious apple smell, other than that, there’s not much more to say about a an anti-bacterial gel!
Yankee Candle Strawberry Buttercream wax melt – I have recently become slightly obsessed with filling my house with delicious scents. As well as candles I have been using wax melts, and this one from yankee smelt amazing! If you like something sweet smelling then this is for you. Apparently the melts are supposed to give you up to eight hours of fragrance, but we got more than that with this. I plan on continuing to try lots of different scents, so if you know of any you think I would like let me know in the comments!
Christina Aguilera perfume – For my day to day perfume I don’t like to spend too much money as I get through bottles of it quite quickly. I tend to find celebrity perfumes are always good value, and this one by Christina Aguilera is an old favourite. I like to vary what I’m wearing though so I’ll probably wait a while before I repurchase this.
Ted Baker Blush Pink Mini Body Spray – If you want something cheap to pop in your handbag then I would strongly recommend these mini body sprays from Ted Baker. There are three different scents that I know of and they all smell great. At 50mls, they are also the right size for hand luggage, which is how I first discovered this one. I’m planning on getting another one for my upcoming trip to Ibiza!
Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel fragrance mist – My sister brought this back from Las Vegas for me and it took forever to get through despite leaving it in the bathroom to use as a room spray. I definitely love my sweet scents and this totally ticked that box. If I had easy access to a Bath and Body Works I would repurchase in an instant.
So that’s my rather extensive empties for this month, it’s not often I see so many make up items so it will be interesting to see what I get through in the next few weeks. Have you tried anything I’ve mentioned? What did you think?
Have a great week!
